SAP appoints Ravi Chauhan as MD of its India Business

 

Chauhan will be responsible for driving SAP India's growth strategy and operations across country

MUMBAI: US-headquartered GE is planning to make India into a technology and innovation centre for its products and not looking at it as a low-cost manufacturing hub.

MUMBAI: The world's largest retailer Walmart Stores has invested Rs 1,328 crore in its India unit, signaling bullishness on the country despite breaking with its joint venture partner last year, internal inquiries into wrongdoing that may have been committed locally and a foreign investment policy that doesn't have too many takers.

German maker has appointed as the company's Managing Director for India. Chauhan who was heading as the MD for India and South Asia in his previous role, succeeds who quit the company earlier this month.

In his new role, Chauhan will be responsible for driving SAP India's growth strategy and operations across the country. Based in Bangalore, he would report directly to Adaire Fox-Martin, President of SAP Asia Pacific Japan.

"As a technology hub and with its vast network of enterprises, entrepreneurs and users, India is undoubtedly a key market for SAP in the region and globally," said Adaire Fox-Martin, President of SAP Asia Pacific Japan.

"We are confident that Ravi brings the right set of skills and experience to lead SAP India to continued success, as we increasingly address the needs of India's rising millennial workforce."

Before Juniper Networks where spent around four years, Chauhan held leadership various roles at Networks.
